How text processing works
Case conversion, spacing cleanup, counters, encoders, decoders, and formatters process the text entered in the page with browser-side JavaScript. TextWorks does not require that text to be submitted to a TextWorks account or paid processing service.
What smart formatting means
The current smart capitalization, title, email, and report tools use deterministic formatting rules. They can adjust capitalization, spacing, punctuation, and recognizable layout patterns, but they do not perform open-ended AI rewriting or add new facts.
How image-to-text OCR works
The Image to Text tool uses the open-source Tesseract.js OCR engine. The browser loads the OCR library and selected language resources, then recognizes the uploaded image locally. TextWorks does not intentionally upload the source image to a TextWorks server.
Accuracy and limitations
Formatting results should be reviewed before publication. Proper nouns, brand capitalization, technical syntax, names, numbers, and OCR output can require manual correction. Image recognition works best with sharp, well-lit, horizontally aligned printed text.
